Inhabitants of Zittau and their churches (1300–1600). Changes in religious foundations during the Reformation
The book deals with the church history of the town of Zittau in Upper Lusatia between the late 13th and early 17th centuries. Its purpose is primarily to move beyond the conventional epoch boundary (late Middle Ages – early modern times or pre-Reformation Roman Church – Protestant Reformation – confessionalization), and instead to change numerous aspects of pre-modern religiosity as so-called Praxis pietatis (foundation, ritual life, etc.) sound out in a longer time frame.
