This anthology contains essays which deal with specific questions from the field of literature and historiography. The focus of interest are the prominent rulers of the High Middle Ages, especially Bohemia, the German lands, northern Italy and Luxembourg. The volume consists of two parts, 1. Court literature: ideals, stylization, imagination and 2. Court historiography: storytelling, propaganda, memory. The publication is based on the results of an international interdisciplinary conference that took place on January 29, 2019 in Prague.
