ITER ROMANUM MMIX–MMXXIV. Book of Czech-Italian Scientific Studies of the Czech Historical Institute in Rome

This volume was produced in the context of the conclusion of Prof. Jaroslav Pánek's extensive tenure as Director of the Czech Historical Institute in Rome (CHIR) from 2008 to 2024. In the introductory essay, the principal authors, Tomáš Černušák and Petr Vorel, provide an overview of the circumstances under which Prof. Pánek assumed leadership of the Institute and outline the significant transformations that took place during his directorship. The core content of this book comprises scientific studies, primarily authored by scholars and other individuals who were closely associated with the activities of the CHIR during Prof. Pánek's tenure. The chapters of this book present recent or current findings from Czech research conducted in Roman and Vatican archives and libraries, addressing various issues in Czech and general history, church history, and art history. The wide-ranging chronological and thematic diversity of these studies is noteworthy, as is the varied institutional affiliation of the authors, who represent a range of research organizations across the Czech Republic that collaborate with the CHIR.
