Johann Christoph Müller (1673–1721) is known to experts and the general public mainly for his connection with the Czech lands as the creator of detailed representative printed maps of Bohemia and Moravia and their manuscript drafts. The personality of Jan Kryštof Müller, set in Baroque Europe, was formed in a much more colourful social, economic and scientific environment. Müller's importance and his cartographic work have to be understood at least in the Central European context.
