Historical Town’s Atlas of the Czech Republic
The Historical Town’s Atlas of the Czech Republic is internationally acknowledged scientific edition to the history of towns – published since 1994, as a part of a European project of historical atlases for comparative history of towns under the auspices of the Commission internationale pour l´ histoire des villes. Each volume sums up and presents the history of a town in historical, urban, topographical, economical, demographic and political circumstances. A significant trait of the Historical Town´s Atlas is its trans-disciplinary character. The already published volumes, together with those in preparation will allow for a comparative research into the urban process of Czechia, Central Europe and selected regions of the European continent from the Middle Ages to present time.
