Czechoslovak Foreign Policy after Liberation in 1945, Vol. C/1
The first part (1945) of the post-war series (1945-1948) of the Czechoslovak foreign policy documents project brings 236 documents from May to December 1945, which document, on the basis of rich source material from Czech and foreign archives (especially the great powers), the first steps of the leadership of liberated Czechoslovakia, a particularly sensitive relationship to the great powers, concerning, among other things, the issue of the stay of Soviet and American troops here and the preparation and implementation of their departure from the liberated republic, but also economic issues connected with uranium mining, with the help of UNRRA, etc. It also deals with the consequences of the war, the repatriation of Czechoslovak citizens, the punishment of war criminals, discussions on the issues of the borders of the Czechoslovak state, the restoration of transport links and economic relations. In the same way, the documentation follows the diplomatic development in the Allied camp, especially the process of the establishment of the United Nations. The documents are published with an extensive notes, the volume also brings a list of documents, an English abstracts of documents and also a name index.
